Esquisse Four - Weight bearing structure

Within your class group create a; 1:1 scaled, load bearing structure, within a 45x45x45 size cube restriction, with a locking system, capable of supporting 100kg. We found triangulation to be a reliable structural solution again for this task. The locking system was quite challenging but was able to be resolved through trial and error.

Esquisse Three

Locking Systems

Using only provided B flute 3.2mm cardboard (no glue or fixings) create a:-
-'locking' system that is strengthened under load
-has a minimum height of 200mm
-holds up to 100 kilograms
-relies on geometry rather than brute force
-relies on minimal material ie weight to strength ratio

Esquisse Two

Understanding Form & Geometry

Using only the 10 mm Xanita board craft provided (no glue or fixings) construct:
A five (5) sided pyramid 100 x 100 x 100mm
Ensure it model stays within dimensions above
Consider the flat pattern of the pyramid and angles to cut
Create locking system to hold pyramid together

Esquisse One

Using only the 10 mm Xanita board provided (no glue or fixings) construct :

· An open ended cube 100 x 100 x 100mm
· Each corner to use a different folding/cornering method

· A locking method to hold the cube closed

Capable of being flat packed
